We look forward to seeing you.

After exploring the Highlands for fun for years we bought the business in 2007, left our jobs and moved up from the Scottish Central Belt to live and work here full time. The property was in poor condition overall.  We felt that Glencoe deserved better and wanted to use our energy and enthusiasm to give guests a better experience.

We now operate with a small, helpful and efficient team and work hard to recruit and retain staff.  We are working towards the Scottish Living Wage accreditation which we hope to complete soon.

Davina and Keith have been involved with the Scottish Independent Hostel network, Discover Glencoe marketing organisation and Glencoe Secret Garden committee.  Keith also ran his own Go Glencoe Guiding business for a few years.  This has been sidelined for now to concentrate on the main accommodation business.

After 12 years we are still passionate about constantly improving the accommodation for you. Here’s just a few changes and improvements we have made:

Passionate about your time away

Keith and Davina Melton

Bunkhouse

This has been completely changed from a large open plan barn to a more modern 3 bedroomed property. We are just about to commence on the first stage of our 3 year plan to completely change the look and feel of the place.

The Hostel

We have completely refurbished the hostel throughout and insulated the property as best we can.  This winter we have renovated the kitchen area to provide more space and much better quality.

The Cabins and Caravans

Where to start?! The site was operating without a Caravan Site License which was a major priority for us.  We gained that and have since replaced the aging caravans with an up to date fleet of 4 new units.  We have added two lovely new Eco Cabins and updated the Log Cabin too.  We have landscaped the site, provided additional parking and planted a native hedgerow which is taking root now.  Visit Scotland have rated our Glencoe Cabins and Caravans as a 4 star small holiday park which is very pleasing.

The site in general

We’ve made lots of changes here including improving the wifi infrastructure*, moving from bottled to bulk gas, adding a secondary treatment point to our shared private water supply, upgraded our road and drainage, and improved signage.

Roses Project

We are proud to be the main residential base for the Roses Project.  This wonderful organisation provides much needed respite and life skills to young carers, disadvantaged children and others in need. We had a portacabin installed onsite to provide additional kit and food storage for the Project last winter.

Sustainability

We are in the process of joining the Green Eco Tourism Scheme and working towards the bronze/silver award.  We are constantly looking to increase our environmental awareness.

*Unfortunatey the speed is still low – come for the views, not the wifi!

Some of our adventures..

We love exploring as a family!
